If you are on “Jeopardy” call it means:

1) You are on “Jeopardy” for 24 hours, from 7 am on the day of, to 7am the following day.  You may be asked to report for duty at any time during that period.  During this time, you MUST have your pager and cell/home phone on.
2) The reasons for being called in for jeopardy include:
a.If a house officer calls in sick or becomes sick during their shift.
b.If the house officer is considered fatigued, sleep deprived, or consistently over duty hours.  Please refer to the Fatigue link on this website.
c. If a house officer sustains a needle stick injury, they are always required to leave work and proceed to employee health during regular business hours, or to the ER during non - business hours.
d. During a disaster.
e. Any extenuating circumstance, at the discretion of the Chief Medical Resident on call.
